QBT announced a partnership with the new Qantas Channel, which began on 1 August 2019. The Qantas Channel will deliver a personalised booking experience for QBT and its customers.
QBT will have access to the widest range of Qantas fares and products, while customers will appreciate richer content and information.
The Qantas Channel announcement follows the launch of the Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP) in 2018, unlocking the value that IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) can deliver airlines and customers.
By utilising the Qantas Distribution Platform, QBT will be able to offer:
- special negotiated corporate fare conditions
- access to seat maps, and baggage allowance based on Qantas Frequent Flyer status.
With QDP recognising business travellers’ loyalty, it offers various benefits, such as:
- Qantas Frequent Flyer tier status recognition
- Qantas Frequent Flyer points and status credit eligibility.
Customers will also be able to see images of cabins and meals, as well as in-flight inclusions such as wi-fi, frequent flyer information, and the ability to book extra legroom seating.
“The digital environment has changed the way we need to work with our trade partners, and our new technology paired with this new Qantas Channel agreement will support us on the journey to delivering our vision for our mutual customers,”
says Vanessa Hudson, Qantas chief customer officer.
“We’re excited to continue to innovate with our trade partners and share in the benefits of this new technology.”
Amadeus on board
Qantas also announced that it has partnered with Amadeus to make the Qantas Channel available to agents globally.
A statement from Amadeus says QBT will have the benefit of “the efficiencies and servicing capabilities of the Amadeus system when booking, changing or cancelling trips”.
